This is why Democrats citing polls showing that Americans want the U.S. military out of Iraq are irrelevant: if one polled most Americans as to whether they would like to win an Olympic gold medal they would overwhelmingly answer yes as well, unless they were also asked if they also wanted to quit their jobs and move to Colorado Springs and train 16 hours a day.

Poll questions which solicit answers along the lines of "as long as I'm wishing, I'd also like a pony" are no basis for policy.
