The Times West Virginia reports on a series of land deals between and among the non-profits that Mollohan created, and his campaign supporters. Land being sold at a 30% profit the same day it was bought, etc. Mollohan has a very simple explanation: "There is no relationship between our appropriation activity and our investments and campaign contributions." Oh, well, why didn't you say so? That explains everything!
